After massage and depending on the dog’s stage of progression a series of specific rehabilitation exercises will be used. Where the dog develops a mental block about using the injured limb and refuses to weight bear for example, we need to foster an environment for the dog to overcome this barrier.
With a combination of specifically tailored rehabilitation exercises, using equipment from your own backyard, we encourage the dog to use their legs independently, weight bear and increase their length of stride. This is achieved by creating an environment where the dog is encouraged to rely on its instinctive ability to deal with that environment.
Engaging the dog in physical and mental aspects of rehabilitation, rehab4dogs strategies assist in the prevention of undue stress on other areas of the body and minimise possible further complications at a later stage.
